• Dec 1 – Jan 7: Christmas Lights Across Canada Illumination Ceremony (6pm…300,000 dazzling lights……Beavertails…)

• Dec 26 – Jan 7: Music at the Museum during the Holidays (Come relax at the café and listen to lovely music)

• Oct 18 - Jan 8: Bytown Museum– Cindy Stelmackowich: Dearly Departed (examine the language of mourning in the19th century) 

• Nov 30 – Jan 8: Christmas Tree Decorating Challenge (Musuemof Civilization)

• Dec 23 – Jan 8: Animals under the Snow and Ice (Museum of Nature)

• Jan 1: The Great Canadian Chill (polar bear dips at Brittania Beach for CHEO!)

• Jan 5: Twelfth Night Celebration (A Company of Fools Theatre play + a Shakespearean comedy) 

• Jan 7-8: Wedding Palace Bridal Show

• Jan 8: Pancake breakfast (pancakes and live entertainment at Saint Brigid’s) 

• Jan 13-15: Ottawa International Motorcycle Show

• Jan 19-22: Lululemon Warehouse Sale

• Jan 20-21: Gatineau Beerfest (“Drink less, drinkbetter”)

• Jan 21: Poetry for the End of the World (Poets, musicians, dance and drink at Arts Court as 2012 ends us all)

• Jan 21: Winterfest All Ages and Night Show (Various artists playing at Ollie’s! You don’t even have to leave the campus!)

• Jan 25: Robbie Burns Day! (go drinking at a local pub and celebrate! Maybe you'll find a little haggis)

• Jan 27 – Feb 21: Taste of Winterlude (A huge food and winelineup to offer a feast of culinary experiences!) 

• Jan 28: Carleton Cup (Ultimate Canadian Triathlon, skate – run –drink, a race across the Rideau Canal)

• Jan 28: Lion Dance (Chinatown Lunar New Year Celebration, wardoff evil spirits!) 

• Jan 28: Ottawa’s First Women’s Slam Championship (Slam Poetry at Arts Court) 

• Jan 28-29: Ottawa Wedding Show (Yup, two in one month) 

Long term events:

• Dec 2-Sept 3 2012: Canadian Museum of Civilization - GOD(s): AUser’s Guide (Explore the diversity of the world’s various religions) 

• Dec 9-Feb 12 2012: Canadian Museum of Nature – Preternatural: WhereArt and Nature Collide (Contemporary art influenced by the wonders of nature)

• Dec 17 – Jan 8 2012: Canada Science and Technology Museum – A VictorianHoliday: Science of Yesteryear (Discover inventions that changed the world)  

Permanent events:

• Every Sunday: Ottawa Art Gallery - Creative Sundays (never been, but go and make a masterpiece!)

• Canada Science and Technology Museum – Energy: Power to Choose (Where is energy produced? Where does distribution of major sources of energy take place?)

• La Petite Mort Gallery One Night Stand (the gallery with balls)

• Lululemon Yoga and Run Club (free every week! keep fit ya lazy kids)

• Trailer Park Bingo at Zaphod`s every Sunday at 9:00-ish (it’s free and you get prizes! It's actually a lot of fun!)

• Mod Night at Babylon every Sunday night

• 80’s Night at Barrymore’s every Sunday

• 90’s Night at Barrymore’s every Thursday

• The Urban Element Workshops on anything food (from how to grill to how to sharpen knives, to mix & match dinners à chefs from 2 different restaurants make a collaborative menu to pair with wine)

• Flock Boutique (workshops hosted by cute local ladies!)
