Here is a shout out to all the third years that had their last third year studio review today, and all the fourth years that handed in the final report today (after much grief to get everything printed).
You may have noticed that the blog has been dead this past week or so, but that has been due to a crazy amount of work here at the school, finally coming to an end today for those of us in third year.
Coming up we still have a bit before we get to leave for the summer. Many of us still have exams. Around the school, in the next two weeks, we have our final pin-up, year end dinner and finally the annual grad show. So school isn't quite done, but I think we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
(^^^ I wish that was our summer!)

Third Year Toy Projects
Last semester, the third years designed toys! Here are some that were developed last semester. There were four categories: Eco-Friendly , Heath and well being, Do-it-Yourself and Inclusive Design. Take a look at more of the projects after the JUMP!
Jon Cairns - Inclusive Design Group - This musical ball encourages parallel play among autistic children.
Richard Whittington - Health and Well Being Group - Balooza is a ball shooting game that encourages active play.

Recess!
The snow has arrived at Carleton! Since the 3rd years' class was cancelled on the first snow of the year we decided some good old fashioned recess was in order! A few wet feet and frozen hands later, everyone was feeling preeeeetty satisfied with how today has turned out.

View from my office
21 Nov 2011 - Week 3 of my internship.
I'm just starting my third week here, and I'm beginning to get more projects. There is no looming deadline at the moment for our projects, so we are all taking it very easy. Actually, my coworker just left after lunch and I have the afternoon off now. It's kind of weird like that.

In response to BLMSA's post...
9 Nov 2011 - Week 10 of my internship.
Was supposed to stick around for 9 months, but cut it short to 3 months. I'll be finishing at the end of the month instead to switch to a different internship. Suppose I'll post a picture of my new office in a few weeks!

3rd Year Update
Research projects are almost due, and toys from our childhood are starting to invade studio. Things are still looking a little bare, but that doesn't stop us from making the most of what we have.

Vote Vote Vote!
It's election day! You can vote until 9:30pm today at your designated polling station.
Some information you might want to know:
1. Where do I vote? How do I know where I'm supposed to go? You can only vote at your designated polling station unless you have a transfer statement. Click the link to find where to vote in your riding.
2. What do I need to bring in order to vote? Bring your driver's license. If you can't find that, make sure you have two pieces of ID that lists both your name and address (i.e. your health card and a bank statement). If you don't have any of that, you can get a registered voter with the right identification to vouch for you (i.e. your neighbour, your parents.)
3. I hate the Harper Government, how to I vote strategically and make sure it doesn't happen again? Check out the recent polls of your riding and then make your decision. It's too late to swap votes now, but you could live in a strategic riding, which means you might have to change your vote from NDP to Liberal, or to Conservative, if that's what you want. Remember, Harper can gain a majority with only 35% of votes!
4. Why should I vote? Well, you can design the society you want. Only 22% of our demographic turned out to vote at the 2000 election. Get on that shit kids.
