CIDSA Ski and Snowboard Trip!

After the huge success of last year's trip to Mont Cascade, CIDSA has brought the event back once more next Friday, January 20th. 
Meet in 1st/2nd year studio around at 5pm, the bus will be departing at 5:15 pm.
It will be 25$ in total: $10 for the bus, $5 for the rental and $10 for the lift pass. Due to this breakdown if you have your own ride or your own skis, the price will be reduced. 
Sign up sheets are up! Please indicate if you have your own ride/ ticket! We need 40 students to sign up for the bus in order to cover the cost of rental... so invite your friends!

CIDSA Masters Student Q & A

This Thursday a few of the Masters of Design students will be speaking to interested students about the program and the work that they are doing here at Carleton. The masters students are all working on fascinating projects, and it will be a great chance to see the design work that is being completed here at Carleton at the masters level.

Alëna Konyk and Belal Alsibai will be talking to students and answering any questions students may have about their experiences and the program itself.

The facilities are really nice and so are the Masters Students so come check it out!

Recap: Internship Talk

On September 30th, from 3-5pm, we hosted our first internship talk. We had a couple speakers fresh from their internships talk to us about their experiences with working in the real world. Everything you could possibly know was covered, topics ranged from job-searches, to co-op, to international placements and exciting plans for the future.

CIDSA would like to thank our speakers: Anne, Liz, Kim, Charlotte, Tony, Gabe, and Jason for taking the time to talk to us!

The talks were a great success and we'd love to host another session! If you missed out, I'm sure that our speakers wouldn't mind chatting about their internships.

It's your chance to design an SID t-shirt that will be produced and sold to all students.

Complete your vector image by November 10th, and then screen print your design onto a shirt at the Workshop on November 12th. Voting will occur after the workshop and the winning design will be chosen by voting.

CIDSA Museum Outing Recap

Here are some pictures from last week's trip to the Canadian Museum of Civilization. We were lucky enough to receive a guided tour from the curator of the Japan: Tradition. Innovation. exhibition, as well as sit in on a lecture from retired Japanese astronaut, Mamoru Mohri. Look forward to more museum/gallery outings in the near future!

These students are the liaison between the students of each year and CIDSA. If you have any questions or comments about CIDSA, year reps are there to answer them and to bring your concerns up at CIDSA meetings so they can be addressed.

If you are not currently a year rep and you are interested in becoming one please let us know. We are looking for more first year students to be involved.

Resin Casting Workshop

CIDSA is proud to present its second Resin Casting Workshop! Held by SID alumnus Teddy Luong, the workshop will take place over two days, Oct 1st + 2nd. Spots are limited, so make sure you sign up on the sheets outside of the printer room ASAP!
