Ruby Hadley: Paper Valleys

Many of us were introduced to Ruby's paper folding prowess at her origami workshop last semester, but hyperbolic parabolas are child's play for the nimble-fingered Hadley. Check out some of her ridiculously complicated looking works on her blog, Paper Valleys.

Also, check out a consolidated list of blogs on the student blog directory (which has taken the shape of a separate page to prevent that sidebar from getting too messy). Let me know if I missed your blog!

Microcontroller Workshop Series (Arduino)

Hey!

IEEE (pronounced eye-triple-ee) is hosting a microcontroller workshop series in three parts. Part one begins on Saturday November 20, 2011. 10am in 4195ME, and covers applications of microcontrollers...so stuff like light sensors, and motors on this thing called Arduino (>>this is what you can do with it). And you can probably transfer this knowledge to making your working models actually work.

Anyway they have a lesson overview you can check out before signing up. The fee is $2 for non IEEE members and you are lent an arduino for the workshop.

The overview and sign up is here>>> click> IEEE microcontroller workshop sign up

Oh, and here's another cool thing you can do with an arduino... make your own GPS.
